1 The rule

We use the present simple for habits, routines, general facts and things that are always true.

The tricky part is the third person singular (he / she / it): the verb takes an -s.

I / You / We / They + verb  ·  He / She / It + verb + -s
2 Forms
FormStructureExample
AffirmativeSubject + verb (+ -s for he/she/it)I work. She works.
NegativeSubject + don't / doesn't + base verbThey don't work. He doesn't work.
QuestionDo / Does + subject + base verb ?Do you work? Does she work?
