Last Thursday, I had a job interview. It was for a position I really wanted: a marketing coordinator at a medium-sized company.
I prepared carefully for several days. I researched the company, practised answers to common questions, and chose my clothes the night before.
On the day, I woke up earlier than necessary because I could not sleep. I arrived at the building fifteen minutes early, which gave me time to calm my nerves in a coffee shop nearby.
The interview was with two people: the marketing director and a senior colleague. They were professional but friendly. The questions were a mix of technical and personal. Why did I want this role? How had I handled a difficult project in the past?
I spoke clearly and tried not to rush. I made eye contact. I asked two questions at the end, which seemed to please them.
I left feeling cautiously optimistic. A week later, they offered me the job.
I am starting next month.
