Last spring, my school class went to the zoo. We went by coach. It took about forty minutes to get there.
The zoo was very big. There were animals from all over the world. First, we saw the lions. There were two lions, a male and a female. The male had a big golden mane. He was sleeping.
Then we saw the giraffes. They were very tall. Their necks were longer than I expected. A keeper was feeding them leaves from a bucket.
My favourite animals were the penguins. They waddled around in a funny way and made loud noises. Some of them jumped into the water and swam very fast.
We had lunch on the grass near the café. I had a sandwich and an apple. My friend Tom had crisps and a chocolate bar.
On the way home, everyone was tired but happy. I drew pictures of the animals in my notebook.
